Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present "Violin Recital by Anne-Sophie Mutter" in June to bring to Hong Kong music lovers one of the top violin virtuosos of the time.
According to a government press release, Mutter, a German violinist, received the award "Victories de la Musique" in Strasbourg in February, 2006. Her 2006 concert calendar is an ambitious homage to Mozart's violin works, which she performs with pianist Lambert Orkis.
At the performance in Hong Kong, Mutter and Orkis will perform a Mozart program, to commemorate the 250th birth anniversary of Mozart.
The recital tour will take the two musicians to Europe, the United States, Russia, Chinese mainland and Taiwan, Japan as well as the Republic of Korea.
